Florida Legends Football Club – Tryout Policy (2026–2027 Season)

At Florida Legends FC, our tryout process is designed to provide a professional, structured, and fair evaluation for all players, aligned with our long-term development model.

Age Group Placement

All players are required to attend tryouts within their respective age group based on birth year for the upcoming seasonal year.

Evaluation Process

Players will be evaluated by our coaching staff based on:

• Technical ability
• Tactical understanding
• Physical qualities
• Work rate and attitude
• Coachability and overall potential

Player Movement (Playing Up or Down)

While all players will begin in their age group, Florida Legends FC maintains a flexible development model:

• Select players may be invited to train or compete with older age groups (“play up”) based on ability, maturity, and readiness
• In some cases, placement in a different age group may be recommended to ensure the best developmental environment

Team Formation Philosophy

Our goal is to:

• Maintain strong team continuity where appropriate
• Provide the right level of challenge for each player
• Create a high-level, competitive training environment across all age groups

Final roster decisions are made at the discretion of the club’s technical staff and are based on what is best for both the individual player and the overall team structure.
